Kakha Kutchava on the events of July 5: these were shameful acts that cannot be justified, we anticipate a harsh response

"What we witnessed yesterday was disgraceful, and our country does not deserve it. There was no way to justify these actions. This is a situation in which we are unable to say "but", - this is how the Speaker responds to the events that took place in Tbilisi yesterday.
According to Kakha Kutchava, the actions that the country witnessed yesterday are condemned by everyone. According to the Speaker, attacks on media representatives are especially unacceptable and no one has the right to hinder their activities.
"Our country has always been bound together by love and religion, which just demands that we respect one another. What we witnessed yesterday, particularly in the name of religion, is simply unacceptably terrible. It's particularly inexcusable when journalists and the media as a whole are targeted. In our country, such hatred has no place. It wasn't just journalists who were targeted; tourists and ordinary civilians were also harassed on the streets. I'd want to ask these people: should they justify such crimes towards their children since their children could be cameramen and journalists tomorrow? This is excessively dangerous”, - K. Kutchava stated.
According to him, it is necessary to identify all persons involved in violence and react strongly. The Speaker responded to the fact that the protesters were lowering the EU flag and said that what happened yesterday was an action against the state.
"Everyone involved should be punished; else, we will not be able to progress. Also, I can't help but react to the EU flag being lowered. Unfortunately, they did not understand how to think state-wise, as I stated in my comment. This is a strike against the state. I'm hoping that these individuals will be recognized as quickly as possible; I'm aware that numerous people have already been arrested. We can't look the other way, and we demand appropriate responses to these activities”, - K. Kutchava remarked.
