The Speaker held a meeting with the OSCE Secretary General, Helga Schmid to discuss the importance of the Geneva Talks and the role of OSCE in co-presiding the Talks.

The parties touched upon the grave humanitarian situation on the occupied territories of Georgia and the actions of the Russian Federation, stressing the illegal detention of the Georgian citizen, Zaza Gakheladze.

As the Speaker stated, the Government of Georgia will apply all the available leverage to ensure the soonest release of the Georgian citizen.

The parties discussed the situation in the region and underlined the role of Georgia in peace and stability in the region.

The parties also dwelt on the upcoming Municipal Elections.

The Speaker underlined the importance of the OSCE/ODIHR monitors.
