Meting of Kakha Kutchava with Rik Daems

H.E. Rik Daems, President of the Council of Europe's Parliamentary Assembly, met with H.E. Kakha Kutchava, Speaker of the Parliament, to discuss the work of the Georgian delegation to the Council of Europe and the outcomes achieved.
The focus was on the Charles Michel Document's execution.
As R. Daems stated, all political parties should take part in the implementation of the agreement.
The local self-government elections in 2021 were one of the key issues of discussion, and K. Kutchava invited the COE Observation Mission to the elections.
The Speaker also praised the President for the Election Observation Mission's work in the 2020 Parliamentary Elections, noting that the Mission's suggestions are reflected in the Election Code.
The sides discussed the situation in the occupied territories.
K. Kutchava thanked the guest for his unwavering support for the sovereignty and territorial integrity of Georgia and stressed the importance of the format of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe in this regard.
At the end of the meeting, R. Daems received approval from the Speaker of Parliament that he will be the main speaker of the Council of Europe's Conference of Presidents of Parliament (Council of Europe CPP), which will be held in September in Athens.
