Presentation of the Book “LIBER AMICORUM – Mindia Ugrekhelidze 80” held with the initiative of the Culture Committee

The Parliament hosted the presentation Book “LIBER AMICORUM – Mindia Ugrekhelidze 80” with the initiative of the Culture Committee, with a Georgian Legal Scholar, Advisor to the Minister of Justice, Mindia Ugrekhelidze as an invitee.
The Speaker, Shalva Papuashvili welcomed the attendees and introduced the role and merit of M. Ugrekhelidze.
“When we speak about the role of Mindia Ugrekhelidze not only in Georgian jurisdiction and justice but in the society, I believe it is a part of the development of society to have the noble members serving the model for various generations. 2022 is a jubilee year and I would like to congratulate him. The publication dedicated to his jubilee is a compendium of the merits, attitudes and philosophy related to the name of Mindia Ugrekhelidze”, - he stated.
The Chair of the Culture Committee, Eliso Bolkvadze dwelt on the presentation and the merit of Mindia Ugrekhelidze towards the Georgian people and Georgian science.
“The merit of Mindia Ugrekhelidze towards the Georgian people and Georgian science is immense. Many words have been said and written about his jubilee, the book has been published, reflecting the personality and pen-craft of Mindia Ugrekhelidze. It is the greatest honor for the recently set up Culture Committee that he is a key figure of the Scientific-Advisory Council. His personal advices are always highly valuable. He has unified the legal matter in the 3-word formula – truth, justice and law. He has given a brand new explanation of the concept of the law unlike the early traditional determination, putting it at the level of art”, - she stated.
According to the author of the Book, Beka Kantaria, the Book serves as a basis for a new direction in legal science.
“The Book establishes a foundation and creates new direction in the legal science, called the law personology, which reveals the role and merit of a certain person in the development of the law”, - he stated.
Mindia Ugrekhelidze thanked the Parliament and the Culture Committee.
“There is a person and a political direction willing to set several directions when the “Georgian Dream” has been formed into a public movement, and I was assigned for one of the directions; unfortunately, I could not accept the continuation of my activity within a party since I am totally neutral with my nature and profession and thus, I remain on the same position and keep cooperating with and, within my modest capacity, supporting the forces I truly trust – it is the youth”, - he stated.
The event was attended by MPs and the members of the Scientific-Advisory Council
