Ana Natsvlishvili and Armaz Akhvlediani Initiating Draft Law

MPs Ana Natsvlishvili and Armaz Akhvlediani initiated the bill regarding the ban on pyrotechnics.
"Pyrotechnics are a threat to human health, pollute the environment, and endanger animals and birds, so our draft law suggests a complete ban on their purchase, storage, and sale”, - Ana Natsvlishvili stated.
The bill allows for two exceptions, the MP noted. One is an F1 category pyrotechnics with a safety distance of 1 meter or less and can be used indoors. The use of pyrotechnics of the second category will be allowed only on the basis of a government decree, in one-time special cases.
MP Armaz Akhvlediani claims that the bill's authors researched how various states used fireworks and sought advice from non-governmental organizations focused on the environment.
Also, the draft law is based on the research prepared by the Parliamentary Research Center regarding the existing legislation in the direction of the use of pyrotechnics in Georgia and the EU states.
"I am sure that in 2024, Georgia will meet without pyrotechnics”, - Armaz Akhvledian remarked.
