Maia Bitadze Met with the Leadership of the Spanish Water Management Company AQUALIA

The Chair of the Environmental Protection and Natural Resources Committee, Maia Bitadze, met with the CEO of the Spanish water management company Aqualia, Miguel Santos, and the company’s Regional Director, José Enrique Bofill.
During the meeting, particular attention was given to the sanitary protection zones of the Tbilisi Sea, ongoing and planned measures to improve water quality, and the new Water Law, the main objective of which is to establish the legal framework for water resource management in the country and to formulate a unified state policy in the field of water resource protection and use.
The parties discussed the company’s investment obligations related to monitoring and improving water quality in Tbilisi.
At the meeting, it was once again reaffirmed that the efficient management of water resources and the provision of high-quality drinking water constitute an important priority of state policy. It was noted that cooperation between the public and private sectors plays a significant role both in environmental protection and in safeguarding public health.
The meeting was also attended by Eka Beridze, Communications Director of GWP, and Giga Nadiradze, Technical Director.
