Chair of the Foreign Relations Committee, Nikoloz Samkharadze, held an introductory meeting with the Ambassador of the Republic of Turkey, H.E. Mustafa Türker Arı.

 

During the meeting, the parties discussed the strategic partnership between Georgia and Turkey, as well as key issues on the bilateral cooperation agenda.

 

They underscored the importance of further strengthening interparliamentary cooperation and expanding the exchange of parliamentary visits.

 

Particular attention was devoted to the Georgia–Turkey–Azerbaijan trilateral cooperation framework, including the significance of the trilateral format of the Foreign Relations Committees of the three countries' parliaments, which was highlighted as a successful example of regional cooperation.

 

The parties also reviewed regional security issues, including security in the Black Sea region, Russia's ongoing aggression against Ukraine, and the situation in Georgia's regions occupied by Russia.
