The Chair of the Gender Equality Council, Nino Tsilosani held a meeting with Rustavi Mayor, Nino Latsabidze and the representatives of Rustavi Municipality to discuss the project “Green Light”, envisaging the provision of inter-disciplinary service in view of raising awareness of persons with autism and support to their mental health.
“Today, we set the foundation for the idea of utmost importance, launched in a pilot mode in Rustavi and I would like to express my particular gratitude to Rustavi Mayor, Nino Latsavidze for her special sensitivity to this project. The project implies the enhancement of the rights of parents of children with disabilities, improvement of their mental and emotional condition and facilitation of their formation as mentors to some extent to enable them to give their recommendations and advice to mothers of children with disabilities about their approaches to the treatment, nourishment and education of their children. I am glad that the Gender Equality Council, along with NGOs and Rustavi Municipality, is soon launching this project and I hope, it will serve as the basis for the realization of more ideas of wider scale”, - N. Tsilosani stated.
According to N. Latsabidze, the project will be launched in 2025.
“A couple of years ago, we commenced a wide-scale reforming process in Rustavi, thus, improving the municipal services. Today, we discussed the enhancement of the capacity of the parents of children with autism, informing them about the plans that our Municipality intends to improve this service for 2025. We are getting prepared to have this project ready for 2025 and reflect it in the budget of 2025”, - she noted.
