"Today we had a meeting in the format of an inter-party group and we agreed on 11 out of 15 issues mentioned during the second reading at the sitting of the Legal Issues Committee. So, in fact, we have a largely agreed version, and therefore I hope that together with the opposition, we will pass this law", - Chairman of the Education and Science Committee, Shalva Papuashvili stated at the Plenary Session.

The draft organic law regulates the issues such as the decision-making process of the CEC, the number of CEC members, and the procedure for their election, the appointment and termination of CEC members by parties, the establishment of a district election commission, the establishment of a precinct election commission and the composition of the representative body of the municipality (Assembly).
