The Parliament deliberated and approved with 104 votes the changes to the Rules of Procedure, introducing an open ballot system in electing the new Public Defender of Georgia.

The Bill has been initiated by Levan Ioseliani.

As the term of the office of the incumbent PD is through the end of 2022, the Parliament deliberated and approved the document in an accelerated manner.

The vote, requiring at least 90 supporters, shall be held in December.
