Under the auspices of the Office of the Parliament of Georgia and with the support of the Georgian Chess Federation, the “Parliament of Georgia Chess Cup 2026” tournament was held among employees of the Parliament Office.

 

Following the conclusion of the tournament, the winners were awarded by the Speaker of the Parliament of Georgia, Shalva Papuashvili.

 

The first-place winner received a medal, a certificate of achievement and a special prize from the Speaker.

 

The First Vice President of the Georgian Chess Federation, Giorgi Giorgadze, also presented the tournament winner with a special prize established by the Federation.

 

The second- and third-place finishers were likewise awarded medals and certificates of achievement.

 

According to the Speaker of the Parliament, organising sporting tournaments for Parliament employees across various disciplines is becoming an established tradition and will continue.

 

The chess tournament was held as part of the sports events organised by the Office of the Parliament of Georgia.

 

The initiative aims to promote a healthy lifestyle among employees, foster the development of sports culture, and strengthen team spirit.
