Members of Parliament Reviewed Women’s Socio-Economic Empowerment Programmes in Khulo Municipality

Vice Speaker of the Parliament of Georgia Nino Tsilosani, Chair of the Interim Commission on Women's and Children's Issues Mariam Lashkhi, and Members of Parliament visited the Women's Room in Khulo Municipality, Zemo Ajara, where they reviewed programmes aimed at promoting the socio-economic empowerment of women and met with programme beneficiaries.

During the meeting, it was noted that, with financial support from the state and private companies, a grant fund has been established within the Khulo Municipality Women's Room to support small enterprises and encourage the development of family businesses. The fund reviews applications submitted annually and finances eligible projects.

"During our meeting with the beneficiaries of the Khulo Municipality Women's Room, we discussed the programmes and initiatives being implemented in the municipality. The support provided to these beneficiaries is of great importance”, - stated Nino Tsilosani.

The Members of Parliament also visited an enterprise in the village of Elelidzeebi, Khulo Municipality, which was established with financial support from the Women's Room.

"The Women's Room, which operates under the local municipality, finances important projects aimed at promoting women's economic empowerment. As part of our working meetings, we met with beneficiaries and listened to their business ideas and development needs. We also visited one of the enterprises established with the support of the Women's Room. It is important that the development of local businesses and the economic empowerment of women continue”, - said Mariam Lashkhi.

Representatives of the local authorities also attended the meeting together with the Members of Parliament.
