Shalva Papuashvili Serving Unofficial Visit to Armenia

The Speaker, H.E. Shalva Papuashvili, along with his accompanying parliamentary delegation, made an unofficial visit to the Republic of Armenia, where they met with the President of the National Assembly of Armenia, Alen Simonyan. During the meeting, Shalva Papuashvili and Alen Simonian discussed the current state of relations between the two countries, including trade and people-to-people connections. They also agreed to undertake specific initiatives aimed at enhancing parliamentary cooperation.
The Speakers of the Parliaments of Georgia and Armenia also engaged in discussions regarding regional peace and security, as well as the potential for parliamentary involvement in these processes. Alen Simonian extended congratulations to Shalva Papuashvili on Georgia's attainment of candidate status for EU membership.
The delegation from the Parliament of Georgia included: First Vice Speaker of the Parliament Giorgi Volski, Chairman of the Foreign Relations Committee Nikoloz Samkharadze, and Anton Obolashvili, a member of the Friendship Group with the Parliament of Armenia.
