Chairman of Parliament 29 Nov 2023
The amendments concerning the remuneration of MPs of the next convocation adopted for the II reading

The Parliament discussed for the II reading the Draft Rules of Procedure and adopted with 83 votes.

The Draft envisages a change in the remuneration of MPs as of January 1, 2025, namely, the salaries for MPs will increase, including for MPs occupying parliamentary positions; the Draft also changes the amount of the supplements for the families of the deceased MP or MP recognized as a person with disabilities.

The Draft was introduced by the Speaker, Shalva Papuashvili, elucidating that Article 1 has been modified upon the I reading and the absolute sums have been replaced with the coefficients as stipulated under the legislation.

The wage coefficients for MPs start with 8 and end with 10 distributed to the respective positions.

The remuneration in the upcoming period shall be determined by its multiplication to the basic wave, which is established on an annual basis under the Law on State Budget
