Plenary 03 Sep 2025
Mamuka Mdinaradze elected as the Chief of the Security Service

The Parliament unanimously elected Mamuka Mdinaradze as the Chief of the  State Security Service with 85 votes.

“We extend our congratulations to Mr. Mdinaradze on his election to the highly esteemed position. We would like to express our sincere gratitude for his exemplary activities undertaken within his mandate during the three convocations of the Parliament. Friends and, what’s imperative, the adversaries are fully cognizant of his position within the Parliament. For the benefit of our allies and the detriment of our adversaries, I am confident that Mamuka Mdinaradze will emerge as a prominent Chief of the Security Service. His initiatives will further strengthen the security system that has been in place in Georgia for years, enabling us to preserve peace and maintain a rapid pace of prosperity amidst regional instability and turbulence. We extend our most sincere wishes to Mr. Mamuka Mdinaradze, confident that he will replicate his previous success in the role of Parliamentary Majority Leader”, - the Speaker, H.E. Shalva Papuashvili emphasised.

Prior to the election as the Chief of SSS, Mr. Mdinaradze delivered the report at the Defense and Security Committee in camera.
