The Parliament discussed the legal initiative of the Government on reforming in the railway transport sphere and approved it with 82 votes.

The Draft Railway Code and the accompanying Bills were introduced by the Deputy Economic Minister, Guram Guramishvili.

The Draft regulates the issues related to the state railway transport policy, regulation and supervision of the sphere, hazardous cargo, safety regulations, serious accidents and incidents, the certificate for the enginemen etc.

The reform aims at the improvement of the efficiency of railway transport making it the safest, greenest and the most sustainable transport means.
