Meeting of the two Education and Science Committees in Beijing

The Delegation of the Education and Science Committee held a meeting with the Chair and members of the Education, Science, Culture, and Public Healthcare Committee of the People’s Congress of China. The meeting was dedicated to the deliberation of a wide range of cooperation in the education and science sphere.


The Chair of the Education Committee, Givi Mikanadze accentuated the strategic cooperation agreement concluded between the leaders of the two countries in July and the agreement signed between the Education and Science Ministries of Georgia and China. He discussed the mutual recognition of the higher education diplomas issued by the two countries and facilitation of the realization of joint programs and issue of the diplomas between universities.


According to the Chair of the Education, Science, Culture, and Public Healthcare Committee of the People’s Congress of China, the visit of the Georgian delegation is of high importance. The commitment was expressed to extending cooperation spheres. At the end of the meeting, G. Mikanadze invited his Chinese colleagues to Georgia for the approximate period of the first half of 2024.


The Parliamentary Delegation of Georgia is composed of: Deputy Chair of the Education Committee, Baia Kvitsiani; Deputy Chair of the Faction “Georgian Dream”, Rima Beradze; and Deputy Chair of the Faction “Georgian Dream”, Nodar Turdzeladze. The meeting was attended by the acting Ambassador of Georgia to China, H.E. Besarion Sharashenidze and the Embassy officers.
