Pridon Sakvarelidze laid the wreath on the graves of Wardrops in Sevenoaks

On April 10, MP Pridon Sakvarelidze and the Georgian Ambassador to the UK, Tamar Beruchashvili visited the Sevenoaks city in the Great Britain and laid the wreath on the graves of Wardrops.
Oliver Wardrop was the high representative of the GB to Georgia in 1919-1921. He and his sister, Marjory have contributed the greatest mite in establishment of independent Georgian Republic and in enhancement of Georgia-British relations.
The event was attended by the Chair of Wardrop Foundation, the Pastor of St. Nicholas Church and the representatives of the Church Board. P. Sakvarelidze introduced merits of Wardrops for Georgia and spoke about the initiatives by Georgian Government to commemorate O. and M. Wardrops. He appealed the representatives of the Church Board for petition to the Arch-Bishop of Canterbury for permission on bilingual script on the tomb-stone. The Pastor served for the souls of Wardrops and expressed gratitude for their activities.
Pridon Sakvarelidze: “The members of the Supervisory Board of the Cemetery and the Pastor promised to mediate with the Arch-Bishop. It may take months due to the mechanisms established for centuries in the GB but we hope to add Georgian script “Gratitude by Georgian People” to the Wardrops graves”.
