Parliamentary Delegation of Georgia Met with Senator Steve Daines
As part of their official visit to the United States, members of the Parliamentary Delegation of Georgia met with Steve Daines, a member of the U.S. Senate Committee on Foreign Relations.

The primary focus of the meeting was the improvement of Georgian–American relations and the restoration of the strategic partnership between the two countries.

Head of the delegation, Chair of the Foreign Relations Committee Nikoloz Samkharadze, noted that the Georgian side is committed to restore the strategic partnership and to begin a new chapter in developing even deeper and mutually beneficial relations.

The parties placed particular emphasis on strengthening the economic component of bilateral cooperation.

Discussions also addressed the security environment in the South Caucasus region. Members of the Georgian parliamentary delegation underscored the threats arising from the occupation.

The meeting further covered the importance of the Middle Corridor and Georgia’s strategic role within it.

Among the topics discussed were ongoing developments in the Middle East and their potential impact on regional security.

The parliamentary delegation is led by Nikoloz Samkharadze, Chair of the Foreign Relations Committee.

The delegation includes Mariam Lashkhi, Chair of the Education, Science and Youth Affairs Committee; Lika Shartava, member of the EU Integration Committee; and Eka Sepashvili, representative of the parliamentary opposition from “People’s Power.”
