Salome Kurasbediani attended the IRE-organized 19th Salzburg Europe Summit

The Deputy Chair of the Environmental Protection and Natural Resources Committee, Salome Kurasbediani attended the 19th Salzburg Europe Summit organized by the Institute of the Regions of Europe (IRE) dedicated to re-industrialization and climate change.
She participated in the panel discussion and dwelt on countering climate changes and the transition to clean energy in Georgia. In her speech, she accentuated the Russian occupation and the progress of Georgia on the EU integration path, as well as the importance of the EU candidacy for our country.
“Georgia is an outstandingly leading country among the Eastern neighborhood and Associated Trio, 20% of which is occupied by Russia and which despite the pandemic and the grave geopolitical situation, presses on with the progress and economic development. We believe the strong economy and empowered institutions are the way to become a dignified EU member state”, - she noted.
The Chancellor of Austria, Karl Nehammer addressed the attendees dwelling on the challenges that Europe encounters today.
The IRE-organized Summit was hosted by Salzburg for 3 days and was dedicated to climate change, EU enlargement, regionalization and globalization, as well as the reconstruction of Ukraine.
The Summit was also attended by the Chair of the Ajara AR Supreme Council, David Gabaidze and the representatives of the Ajara AR Government.
