Parliamentary Delegation Led by Nino Tsilosani met with Speaker of the Canadian Parliament Francis Scarpaleggia

As part of an official visit to Canada, a parliamentary delegation of Georgia, led by the Vice Speaker of Parliament and Head of the Georgia–Canada Parliamentary Friendship Group, Nino Tsilosani, met with the Speaker of the Canadian Parliament, Francis Scarpaleggia.
During the meeting, the parties reviewed the friendly and partnership-based relations between Georgia and Canada and underscored the important role of parliamentary diplomacy in deepening bilateral cooperation and strengthening ties. Nino Tsilosani expressed gratitude to the Canadian side for its firm support for Georgia’s sovereignty and territorial integrity.
Particular attention was devoted to Georgia’s geopolitical significance, its strategic role, and the country’s commitment to its Western course.
“During the meeting with the Speaker of the Canadian Parliament, we had the opportunity to discuss Georgia’s geopolitical importance, the country’s economic potential, and the significant role Georgia plays both for the European Union and for the broader Western world. We observed strong interest in Georgia from the Canadian side. I hope that this interest will contribute to further deepening cooperation between our two countries”, - stated Nino Tsilosani.
At the conclusion of the meeting, both sides expressed their readiness to promote bilateral visits and further strengthen cooperation between the two parliaments.
The Georgian parliamentary delegation includes: Nino Tsilosani – Vice Speaker of Parliament and Head of the Georgia–Canada Parliamentary Friendship Group; Mariam Lashkhi – Chair of the Education, Science and Youth Affairs Committee; Irakli Zarkua – Chair of the Diaspora Committee; Gocha Enukidze – Deputy Chair of the Committee; Viktor Sanikidze – Chair of the Sports Committee; and Giorgi Khakhubia – Deputy Chair of the Environmental Protection and Natural Resources Committee.
