Meeting of Rik Daems with Parliamentary Majority

The President of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe, Rik Daems met with members of the parliamentary majority to review the country's domestic and foreign policy priorities, with the focus on the work of the Georgian delegation to the Council of Europe and its future prospects.
"We strive the Georgian delegation to the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe to become even more active in the future. This delegation plays a very important role in protecting the strategic interests of our country”, - Irakli Kobakhidze stated.
The sides discussed the current developments in the region and the potential role of Georgia in this process.
The meeting focused on the issue of the occupation of Georgia.
"It is very important for us to make sure that the processes that are taking place in the occupied territories, especially in the field of human rights, are under the direct supervision of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe”, - I Kobakhidze added.
The parties also discussed domestic political processes, including the implementation of the Charles Michel Document and this year’s local government elections.
