The Interim Commission Studying the Structure of Price Formation for Food Products, Medicines, and Fuel Held an Organizational Meeting

At the organizational meeting of the Interim Commission studying the structure of price formation for food products, medicines, and fuel, the members of the Commission elected the Chair and Deputy Chair.
The Commission will be chaired by the Chair of the Economic Policy Committee, Shota Berekashvili.
The members of the Commission elected Eka Sepashvili as Deputy Chair. At the organizational meeting, the members of the Commission approved the regulations of the Commission.
According to the regulations, the purpose of the Commission is, within the scope of its competence, to conduct a systematic, comprehensive, and fact-based study of the issue of rising prices of food products, medicines, and fuel; to objectively assess price formation mechanisms; and to identify possible problematic circumstances.
“The goal of the Commission is to thoroughly study the sectors of food products, medicines, and fuel. It is important that the research process be conducted transparently and that we hear from sector leaders about existing problems and challenges, as well as ways in which processes can be optimized. I hope that through constructive and substantive meetings, we will achieve significant results within the framework of this Commission,” - stated Shota Berekashvili.
According to him, the Commission will continue its activities in a working mode starting next week. The Commission consists of 14 members.
