H.E. Shalva Papuashvili, Speaker of the Georgian Parliament, held a meeting with the Azerbaijan Milli Meclis Delegation. The Georgia-Azerbaijan intensive relations were positively assessed at the meeting.

Shalva Papuashvili expressed his gratitude to the Azerbaijani Delegation for its support of the Resolution on the Status of the Internally Displaced Persons and Refugees from the Occupied Territories of Georgia at the United Nations General Assembly yesterday.

The parties emphasised the productive parliamentary cooperation between the Speakers, as well as at the level of the Committees and Friendship Groups. The positive dynamics of the bilateral visits were highlighted.

The significance of the strengthening of the links between the youth of the two nations was underscored, and the pivotal role of the Education Committees was elucidated in this context.

The meeting was attended by the Head of the Georgia-Azerbaijan Friendship Group, the Chair of the Education, Science and Youth Affairs Committee, Mr. Givi Mikanadze; and the Chair of the Sports Committee, Mr. Victor Sanikidze.
