The Speaker of the Parliament of Georgia, H.E. Shalva Papuashvili, met with the Secretary General of the ASEAN Inter-Parliamentary Assembly (AIPA), Chem Widhya.

 

The parties discussed ongoing international crises and emphasized the importance of strengthening parliamentary diplomacy to effectively address these challenges.

 

Shalva Papuashvili informed the Secretary General about a joint conference planned to be held in Georgia, within the framework of which members of the PABSEC and the ASEAN Inter-Parliamentary Assembly (AIPA) will gather to discuss global challenges.

 

According to him, the event will significantly contribute to enhancing interregional dialogue.

 

The meeting took place in Istanbul, Turkey, within the framework of the 152nd IPU Assembly.

 

The delegation, led by the Speaker, includes the Chair of the Foreign Relations Committee, Nikoloz Samkharadze, and the Chair of the Environmental Protection and Natural Resources Committee, Maia Bitadze.
