Shalva Papuashvili Addressed Employees of the Special State Protection Service

“Congratulations on the 32nd anniversary of the Special State Protection Service. For those of us who benefit daily from the dedication and support of the Service’s employees, the professionalism, loyalty, and commitment demonstrated by each member of the Service are especially appreciated”, - stated the Speaker of the Parliament of Georgia, Shalva Papuashvili, while addressing the anniversary event of the Special State Protection Service.
As Shalva Papuashvili noted, the Special State Protection Service was one of the first fully independent state institutions established to safeguard the country’s constitutional order and security.
According to him, the effective functioning of the Service is an important prerequisite for strengthening the country’s security, stability, and defense capabilities.
“You are the fighters of an invisible front line, whose daily work and responsibility represent one of the most important guarantees of the state’s security.
The Special State Protection Service was one of the first fully independent state institutions established to protect the constitutional order and security of the country during an extremely difficult, tragic, and challenging period, when many state and law enforcement structures were still subject to external influence and interference.
The establishment of this Service in 1994 proved to be a far-sighted decision based on a strong sense of statehood. It was this institution that managed to protect the then-President from assassination attempts, ensure the functioning of state institutions, and make a significant contribution to strengthening the stability of the newly restored Georgian state. This history is an integral part of Georgia’s modern history, and the importance of your Service remains irreplaceable.
As Georgia’s statehood, sovereignty, and international role continue to strengthen, the responsibilities of the Special State Protection Service are also increasing. The security environment in our region, the diversity of modern threats, and growing challenges further heighten the responsibility entrusted to you. Therefore, the effective functioning of your Service is a vital prerequisite for enhancing the country’s security, stability, and defense capabilities.
I wish you success in carrying out your responsibilities with dignity. I wish you a peaceful and strong Georgia, where your service remains largely unnoticed by the public eye, yet its results are felt every day in the strength of the state and the effective functioning of its institutions.
Once again, congratulations on the Day of the Special State Protection Service. I wish you success and good health in your service”, - Shalva Papuashvili stated.
The anniversary event of the Special State Protection Service was also attended by Mikheil Kavelashvili, President of Georgia; Irakli Kobakhidze, Prime Minister of Georgia; Mamuka Mdinaradze, Vice Prime Minister and State Minister for Coordination of Law Enforcement Agencies; and Anzor Chubinidze, Head of the Special State Protection Service of Georgia.
