Sozar Subari: the force that has been driving our country up today shall be safeguarded on the Constitutional level, since if we fail, we may lose our identity tomorrow

“The Law that we consider to be adopted consists of one Article and 8 paragraphs and stipulates nothing but the protection of family values and minors. It is the value that we protect and shall further protect”, - the Chair of the Parliamentary Political Group “People’s Power”, Sozar Subari stated at the universal-public consideration of the Draft Constitutional Changes and the Draft Constitutional Law on Protection of Family Values and Minors in Kutaisi.

According to him, the introduction of the amendments is conditioned due to the current developments in the world.

“Today, we witness the situation in the world and Georgia is not an exception, which conditioned the necessity of this Law. Take Poland, Hungary and other countries for instance that apply far stricter laws for the protection of these values – the family and children”, - he stated.

S. Subari accentuated the mental state of the children being raised in same-sex families noting that according to scientific studies, such children encounter twice acute mental and emotional problems. As he noted, this is going to become even more problematic and pressing since as soon as any of the Western countries start considering these issues at the legal level, it is followed by the immense funds and the pressure on the government forcing them to obey the game rules.

“This is why we need to reinforce this norm at the Constitutional level since it is the force that has been driving our country up today shall be safeguarded on the Constitutional level, since if we fail, we may lose our identity tomorrow. We may lose our Georgian soul and lose our country. We are against no one and violate no rights, we just protect our rights to remain what we have always been for centuries, as it is indoctrinated by our religion and any other religion. It means not a fight against any other religion but a fight against disbelief and unbridling. However, there are forces and people in every country that clearly acknowledge the threat that mankind is posed today. And we need to place another brick, contribute our merit in the protection of our country and nation and a whole humankind”, - he stated.
