Tamar Taliashvili: It is critical to address the problems to legal education quality in the context of integrated education and employment systems

Tamar Taliashvili, the First Deputy Chair of the Education and Science Committee, attended a meeting hosted by the USAID Rule of Law Program. The theme of the meeting was Legal Education in Georgia: Challenges and Opportunities.
Tamar Taliashvili stressed the importance of law as a regulated profession, the major concerns of the Committee's ongoing educational reform, and the internationalization of legal education in her speech.
"It is highly praised that professional groups, institutions, and future employers are participating in the dialogue about improving the quality of legal education. It is critical to address the problems to legal education quality in the context of integrated education and employment systems, rather than in isolation. The Committee is holistic on this topic, and legislative involvement in this process is active”, - T. Taliashvili stated.
Representatives from higher education groups, experts, and representatives from numerous professional domains attended the meeting.
The USAID Rule of Law Program in Georgia is a five-year, 25 million USD project. The East-West Management Institute is in charge of implementing the program (EWMI).
