The Member of the Faction “European Georgia”, Zurab Chiaberashvili held the briefing introducing the information about suspension of state aid to the socially vulnerable population.

As he stated, 53 000 citizens were deprived of social aid in the end of 2016. He noted that according to the official data by the Ministry of Labor, Health and Social Protection, 7000 out of 53000 are children, 17000 are pensioners and 43000 are rural residents.

Reduction has been also applied to even more vulnerable categories attributed to the low rating points: from 0 to 30 000 and from 30 000 to 57 000. Hence, 2 ml GEL is saved per month.
