The Head of the Georgia-Swiss Confederation Friendship Group, Eka Beselia and Sergo Ratiani give evaluation to the visit of the Parliamentary Delegation to Swiss Confederation

The Speaker and the Georgian delegation serve the official visit to Bern. The delegation is composed of Tedo Japaridze, Eka Beselia and Sergo Ratiani. According to E. Beselia, Switzerland plays an important role in Georgia-Russia relations. This visit will facilitate to the new stage of Georgia-Switzerland relations.

“Switzerland is a very important country playing an immense role in Georgia-Russia relations as a mediator. The visit to Switzerland is very important. I would like to note the relations of friendship groups.  Switzerland Friendship group is the first in the Parliament and our Ambassador and Embassy played significant role. The visit of Head of Switzerland-Georgia Friendship group has been already served to Georgia. I hope our relations will be more active. There are many issues of interest. We will work in friendship group format in order to transform the visits and bilateral cooperation to the results. Support of Switzerland to Georgia will be very important as in political so in economic and social directions”.

According to Sergo Ratiani, the visit is very important as the range of issues were considered. “The visit was important as Switzerland plays significant role in relations with Russia. We spoke about domestic policy, foreign policy etc. They well realize that our relations to Russia are the part of European integration. Development of democracy in Georgia is also very important”.
