The meeting of Gigla Agulashvili with Interns

The Chair of Agrarian Issues Committee met with interns. They spoke about challenges in agrarian sphere. As G. Agulashvili stated, development of agriculture is one of the main tasks for the state and the Government has the relevant plans. He spoke about directions without development of which success is impossible.
“We shall achieve constant renovation of knowledge in this sector. One of the main tasks is to provide technique and establish high technologies, restoration of infrastructure, fund raising and to seek the market. These are the issues successful solution of which will entail success for farmers and for the country in general”.
He spoke about laws and drafts which can play important role in agricultural development and named the law on Agrarian Cooperatives which slowly but facilitates to enlargement of petty farms.
He emphasized harmonization of Georgian legislation to Europe and noted that it is necessary for food safety. DCFTA gives trigger to Georgian farmers and manufacturers to enter European markets.
He also answered the questions about activity of the Committee. He spoke about future plans and noted that one of the most actual issues is agrarian insurance the draft on which is already developed. The Committee also works on draft on windbreaks.
