The meeting of the Chair of Legal Issues Committee, Vakhtang Khmaladze with Interns and Practitioners

Vakhtang Khmaladze briefly spoke about the role of the Parliament and the place amongst the Governmental branches and emphasized activity of the Legal Issues Committee. The Committee occupies the particular place amongst other Committees as it is here where most of the drafts are being developed. It is legislation, concerning state order, public Codes etc. He also spoke about oversight function of the Committee. It is noteworthy that the Committee, within the Parliamentary oversight, hears the reports from various agencies accountable to the Parliament.

He wished good luck to the students and stated that “working in the Committees facilitates to your qualification in general. During your internship, you will learn a lot and obtain other skills, which is the pre-condition for your right choice in the future”.

The former interns and employees of the Parliament evidence that the Parliament is a good platform for study.

He also answered the questions mainly concerning legal sphere, foreign policy, EU integration, economic situation and human rights.

As the Head of HR Department, Marine (Diana) Asatiani stated, internship is a tradition in the Parliament established years ago. “Interns, passing the contest called by the Parliament, start their internship in various structural units for 6 months to study and obtain skills. As to the students, they pass the practice for 30 days on the basis of the memorandum on cooperation with Universities”. Both, internship and practice serve the same aim – to facilitate students and youth to gain their professional skills and enhance theoretical knowledge with practice, as well to facilitate to training of qualified personnel.
