The meeting was introductory, initiated by the Ambassador. Zurab Tkemaladze introduced the Committee activity, the composition and the structure. The parties spoke about cooperation between Georgia and Sweden and about the spheres of cooperation.

According to Martina Quick, the Committee is particularly important in terms that it covers the spheres in which the Swedish Embassy is involved with projects, for instance climate change, environmental protection, waste management etc. The parties spoke about energy efficiency projects with active merit by the Embassy.

According to Z. Tkemaladze, it is a very important sphere as the country does not yet have mastered the resources to increase energy efficiency. He introduced implemented and ongoing projects, including “Produce in Georgia”, within which many enterprises have been start-up, many job opportunities were created and Georgian production is manufactured. It will enable regulation of unfavorable balance between expert and import.

The parties agreed that upon joint programs, to jointly take care of provision of information to the population. The business meetings will further be held.
