The meeting of the Independent MPs – Chair of the Political Party “For Justice”, Eka Beselia and the Political Secretary of the Party, Zviad Kvachantiradze with the co-rapporteurs of the PACE Monitoring Committee

MPs – Chair of the Political Party “For Justice”, Eka Beselia and the Political Secretary of the Party, Zviad Kvachantiradze hosted the co-rapporteurs of the PACE Monitoring Committee, Titus Corlatean and Claude Kern to discuss the judicial reform and election of the Supreme Court Judges.
“The meeting is initiated by the co-rapporteurs of the PACE Monitoring Committee in the format of our Party, which was of utmost importance. Most of the meeting time was dedicated to the judicial reform and the problems of election of the Supreme Court Judges. The PACE observes the processes and the monitors are visiting Georgia to develop the new report – the key issue to define the democratic course of Georgia and the new reality in regards with commitments of Georgia assumed after accession to CoE. Our steps made today back in terms of democracy are best reflected in a very hazardous compromises committed in regards with the judicial reform, which will for sure be subject to response and critical assessment by CoE. We have widely covered all these aspects. The co-rapporteurs will see to the processes and reflect them in the report on Georgia”, - E. Beselia noted.
The parties touched upon the pre-electoral milieu.
“Today, we discussed the wide range of the ongoing issues crucial for development of our country at the current stage. We dwelt on the premature pre-election milieu and the commitments Georgia has assumed years ago towards CoE. We introduced our position to our European colleagues”, - Z. Kvachantiradze stated.
