The meeting of the Speaker with the PACE President

The Speaker, Mr. David Usupashvili, within the ongoing European Conference of the Presidents of the Parliaments, met with the PACE President, Mr. Pedro Agramunt. Mr. Agramunt recalled the meeting within the 25th Annual OSCE PA Session held in Georgia in July.
The Speaker underlined that Georgia tries to have the closest relations with all CoE organizations. “We also are adequate towards all criticism by CoE as all the remarks facilitating to our development are valuable for us”.
The parties discussed pre-election milieu. P. Agramunt noted that PACE Observer mission serve the visit to Tbilisi and elections will be observed by up to 30 observers. Speaking about security issues, he noted that the critical position of PACE towards Russia due to violation of sovereignty and territorial integrity of Georgia and Ukraine remains unchanged.
The Conference held in Strasbourg is attended by the Speakers of the Parliaments and MPs from 47 member states. The Conference, participated by up to 350 delegates, is being held once per year and is attended by up to 350 delegates. The event is organized by PACE.
