Tinatin Khidasheli delivered the speech at the Commonwealth Club in San Francisco

Tinatin Khidasheli delivered the speech at the Commonwealth Club in San Francisco

T. Khidasheli serves the working visit to USA. She delivered the speech at the Commonwealth Club on “Importance of more involvement of Women and Youth for Democracy”. This will be the main topic of the talk-show of the Club next week.

As she noted, social media is not equally important for all politicians. Some of them actively use it some not. “I personally, made social media as the index of frankness of politicians. In the modern world we are given the opportunity to have the direct dialogue with our population, to hear their concerns. Today we can be the participant of the dialogues of any of our citizens in their kitchens. Refusing this opportunity and hiding from social space it is absolutely non-understandable and incompatible with the XXI century demands. Meanwhile, we shall always remember not to allow any of the groups to monopolize this mean, we shall try to have contact with as many people as possible. This is the bilateral process and only politicians unilaterally will not succeed”.

In order, to let everyone obtain benefit from technologic novelties, the politicians shall provide accessibility to education and shall struggle against poverty. “The distance emerged as a result of development of technologies, is not only divided in gender or age categories but also lies on accessibility to education and technologies. In order to let all the layers enjoy this benefit, the politicians have the primary task to provide accessibility to education and to struggle against poverty as without progress of these two components, this distance will further increase and we will have one part of society with constant access to technologies and will rise higher on development levels and unfortunately the second part with event books not accessible”.

The working visit of T. Khidasheli to USA will be accomplish in the end of the week.
