The Resolution on the Endorsement of the Draft Budget of the Parliament for 2025 adopted by the Parliament

Plenary 12 Jun 2024
The Resolution on the Endorsement of the Draft Budget of the Parliament for 2025 adopted by the Parliament

The Parliament adopted the Resolution on the Endorsement of the Draft Budget of the Parliament for 2025 with 76 votes, introduced by the Speaker, Shalva Papuashvili.

As the Speaker underlined, the budget plan for 2025 is determined by 87 ml 262 k. GEL, where the expenses constitute 78 ml 374 k. GEL, the non-fiscal asset increase – 8 ml 888 k. GEL, and the remunerations – 43 ml 718 k. GEL.

Per his elucidation, the statement of the opposition MP, Roman Gotsiridze made at the Committee sitting about the swelled number of staffers and contracted employees is a false allegation.

“Number of the employees is 708 persons; this figure includes MPs, public officers and the persons employed on the basis of an administrative contract. As for freelancers, which in fact imply the labor contracts, there are 25 persons in the Committees and 29 on the Staff. The persons are employed on the basis of the contract as the IT specialists, also the staffers of the Factions and the Departments, including the supervisory officers. In general, the total number of employees compared to 2012 increased by 70, which is based on the decision made a couple of years ago about the admission of assistants for MPs elected by the proportional list. Basically, it served as a ground for the increase of the number of staffers by 70. In fact, no essential increase since 2012 has been made”, - the Speaker stated.
