The Agrarian Issues Committee hearing the State Budget 2024 Execution Report

Giorgi Kakauridze, the First Deputy Finance Minister, introduced the Annual Report on the Execution of the State Budget 2024 to the Agrarian Issues Committee.

The reporter reviewed the macroeconomic parameters of 2024 and the key parameters of the budget execution.

According to him, the budget for 2024 was planned on the 5.2% real economic growth; however, stemming from the high economic progress, the forecasts have been modified and the final economic growth index now constitutes 9,4%.

G. Kakauridze highlighted the role of the private and foreign sectors in economic growth.

"The foreign sector has highly contributed in economic growth. The trade in 2024 achieved 23 bl. 485 ml. USD. Foreign trade’s share in economic growth was 8,3%, where the export index constituted 6 bl. 560 ml USD, and import - 16 bl. 924 ml USD. As for the second domain of the foreign sector - tourism, the indices of the number of visitors and the currency inflow for 2024 were also high. Last year, Georgia was visited by 6 million 456 thousand visitors. As for the tourism revenues, it constituted 4 bl. 425 ml USD”, - he reported.

The First Deputy Minister also reviewed the money transfers and direct foreign investments, noting that according to the direct investments, the UK, Malta and the Netherlands are determined to as the largest investors.

The reporter accentuated the programs that directly pertain to the agrarian sector.

“The fulfillment of the agrarian programs was at high stake. All projects have been fully financed without impediments”, - he underlined.

He also introduced the economic dynamics for 2025 and the basic macroeconomic forecasts for the four upcoming months. As he underlined, the Ministry is submitting the initial version of the Budget for 2026 to the Parliament in September.
