The Agrarian Issues Committee endorsing the documents for ratification

The Agrarian Issues Committee endorsing the documents for ratification

The Agrarian Issues Committee deliberated on the document submitted by the Government for ratification - the Letter-Agreement of Change N1 to the Loan Agreement between Georgia and ADB of October 15, 2020, (ordinary transactions) (water supply and sewerage sector sustainable development project), introduced by the Deputy Regional Development and Infrastructure Minister, Mzia Giorgobiani.

According to her, the document was signed on October 15, 2020, in view of the sustainable development of the water supply and sewerage sector. The Loan amount constitutes 17 ml. 740 k. EURO, issued with a term of 23 years, 14 of which are preferential. The loan refund date was established as June 30, 2025.

As the reporter noted, the project’s primary objective is the rehabilitation of the water supply system in Telavi. Additionally, it aims to enhance the company’s operational efficiency, technical capabilities, and equipment. The project is currently being implemented by the Ministry with the support of the United Water Supply Company.

As highlighted, the uninterrupted activity of the company necessitates an additional time commitment, specifically the extension of the loan term by two years. This change was introduced to the document on February 28, 2025.

Thus, the Change establishes the loan refund term as June 30, 2027, instead of June 30, 2025, and determines the project accomplishment term as December 31, 2026, instead of December 31, 2024.

The Committee endorsed the document.
