The Chair of the Culture Committee, Eliso Bolkvadze, participated in the opening ceremony of the renovated building of the "Ten-Year School for Gifted Students".

With the joint efforts of the Government of Georgia and the Cartu Fund, the fully renovated building of Zakaria Paliashvili Central Music School of Tbilisi, known as the "Ten-Year School for Gifted Students", was officially opened.

The event was attended by the Prime Minister of Georgia, Irakli Kobakhidze, Minister of Culture and Sports of Georgia, Tea Tsulukiani, Executive Director of the Cartu Charity Fund, Nikoloz Chkhetiani, Director of the "Ten-Year School for Gifted Students", Nodar Zhvania, Rector of the Tbilisi State Conservatoire, Giorgi Vachnadze, and other invited guests.

A joint concert was held featuring successful students and graduates of the "Ten-Year School for Gifted Students", with performances by Chair of the Committee Eliso Bolkvadze, Rector of the Tbilisi State Conservatoire and Professor Giorgi Vachnadze, members of the Sulkhan Tsintsadze National Quartet, Vice-Rector of the Conservatoire Nino Kasradze, Professor Tamar Licheli, People’s Artist of Georgia and Conservatoire Professor Temur Gugushvili, composer and pianist Davit Evgenidze, Conservatoire Professor and Chairman of the Georgian Composers' Union Giorgi Shaverzashvili, producer and TV presenter Noe Sulaberidze, and others.

Solo and chamber-instrumental works by Georgian and Western European composers were performed. This year, the music school "Ten-Year School for Gifted Students" celebrates its 90th anniversary, and it is symbolic that students will start the new academic year in the renovated building.

The school has been operating in the building on Alexander Chavchavadze Street (No. 19) since 2010, but over the years, it faced numerous challenges: the building did not meet the requirements of the Central Music School, and the school’s infrastructure was severely deteriorated, hindering the learning process significantly. The school lacked even a small concert hall, putting teachers and students who chose music as their profession in a difficult situation.

In 2016, the Cartu Fund financed the design and rehabilitation work (954,500 GEL), and in 2022, upon the initiative of the Ministry of Culture, the process resumed with the Ministry of Culture and Sports of Georgia allocating 6,243,000 GEL in co-financing. The building underwent structural reinforcement, iron constructions were installed to create an additional floor for a concert hall, a heating system was installed, and the interior renovation was completed.
