The Election bloc: "Giorgi Vashadze - Strategy Builder" is initiating a bill, which envisages amendments to Article 15 of the Law on State Pension.

As the draft law promulgates, the pensioner will have the right to choose the pension paying bank per their discretion.

"There should be a record in the law that says that a pensioner is entitled to freely choose pension accounting bank. We have collected 50 000 signatures on this issue before the elections and today we are fulfilling our pledge”, - G. Vashadze stated.

According to him, today Liberty Bank has the exclusive right to pay pensions in Georgia, it has no competitors and, accordingly, the market conditions are set by this bank. In the conditions of free competition for pension services, when one bank will no longer have the exclusive right to pension services, the interest rate of the pension loan will be automatically reduced.

"I want to thank our supporters for giving us the right to initiate this issue in Parliament. With this we take to the legislative discussion”, - G. Vashadze remarked.

Khatuna Samnidze and Tariel Nakaidze also joined the afore-mentioned legislative initiative.

"With this Bill, we give space to pensioners, people with disabilities, socially vulnerable people to choose where to get their pensions”, - Kh. Samnidze noted.
