Members of the Parliamentary Trust Group heard the annual report of the Special State Protection Service of Georgia.

Anzor Chubinidze, the head of the service, provided information about areas of activity for 2022, including security measures for protected people and objects, security measures for dignitaries visiting Georgia, institutional and technological development of the service, as well as steps taken to improve the material and technical base.

The members of the Trust Group got acquainted with the steps taken by the agency in the field of international cooperation and future plans.

"With a full spectrum of security measures, including personal protection, escorting, special forces, operational and operational-technical skills, as well as a training facility, the Special State Protection Service of Georgia is a well-trained and outfitted organization. The service perfectly satisfies all requirements for safety precautions. The service became a member agency of the National Security Council in the fall of 2022, and it actively participates in all interagency coordination and decision-making procedures related to national security. The International Association of Personal Protection Services conference was hosted by SSPS in Tbilisi in 2022, which amply displays the service's accomplishments and reputation abroad. In addition to ensuring that efficient service supervision is carried out, we, the lawmakers, also ensure that the agency has the required and appropriate support", - the Head of the Trust Group, Irakli Beraia, elucidated.

The meeting was attended by the members of the Trust Group - the First Deputy Chairman of the Defense and Security Committee, Aleksandre Tabatadze, and the Chairman of the Legal Issues Committee, Anri Okhanashvili.
