Irakli Zarkua, Nodar Turdzeladze and Vladimer Konstantinidi Meets with Georgian Diaspora in Thessaloniki

Chair of the Diaspora and Caucasus Issues Committee, Irakli Zarkua, Committee Member Nodar Turdzeladze, and Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Vladimer Konstantinidi held a meeting with the Georgian diaspora at the Church of St. Nicholas, part of the Georgian parish in Thessaloniki.

During the meeting, Irakli Zarkua provided the diaspora community with an overview of the projects implemented by the Committee, as well as upcoming initiatives. He emphasised the importance of maintaining and strengthening communication between the Georgian state and compatriots living abroad.

For his part, Deputy Minister V. Konstantinidi presented the activities carried out by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs’ Department for Diaspora Affairs, outlining current support mechanisms.

Members of the Georgian diaspora received information from both legislative and executive representatives regarding the assistance available for citizens living abroad, as well as opportunities related to reintegration upon their return to Georgia.

The meeting was also attended by Georgia’s Consul General in Thessaloniki, Gela Japaridze, and Protopresbyter Father Giorgi (Mathureli).

As part of the visit, Irakli Zarkua, Nodar Turdzeladze, and Vladimer Konstantinidi travelled to Mount Athos, where they held discussions with members of the clergy.
