The Head of the Georgia-Bulgaria Parliamentary Friendship Group, Khatia Tsilosani held a meeting with the Ambassador of Bulgaria, H.E. Vesselin Valkanov and overviewed the details of the visit of the Speaker of the Parliament of Bulgaria to Georgia scheduled in the nearest days.

Kh. Tsilosani underlined the significance of closer cooperation between Georgia and Bulgaria as the Black Sea countries not only in the political but in the economic dimension.

“At the meeting, the Ambassador highlighted that all the political groups in the Parliament of Bulgaria support the European aspiration of Georgia and granting the EU candidate status. According to the diplomat, Georgia and Bulgaria are partner countries and are aspired to further actively cooperate. I underlined that Bulgaria is among the top ten trade partners of Georgia and it is paramount to apply the capacities guaranteed to Georgia under the free trade agreement with the EU in this direction. We reiterated the preference to improve parliamentary diplomacy by upgrading it to a higher level and the support of the initiatives of Georgia and Bulgaria in various directions. I also introduced the progress that Georgia achieved in compliance with 12 recommendations”, - Kh. Tsilosani commented to the media.
