Meeting of Maka Botchorishvili and Levan Karumidze with Representatives of Executive Structures in Estonia

Maka Botchorishvili, the Chair of the EU Integration Committee, and Levan Karumidze, the First Deputy Chairman, conducted meetings with Klen Jäärats, the director of EU Affairs of the Government Administration, and Kyllike Sillaste-Elling, the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs, during their visit to Tallinn.
Maka Botchorishvili provided an overview of the reforms implemented in Georgia to facilitate its integration into the European Union, highlighting the progress made in implementing the recommendations put forth by the European Commission.
The Chair of the European Integration Committee expressed optimism that Georgia's efforts to fulfill the European Union's recommendations would be duly recognized, leading to the granting of candidate status by EU member states in December.
Discussions during the meetings addressed the impact of Russia's aggression in Ukraine, the challenges faced by Georgia, and the complex situation prevailing in the region. The importance of mutual cooperation and support between Georgia and Estonia was emphasized.
Furthermore, the visit included meetings with representatives from Estonian research institutes focused on defense and security issues, Ekke Nomm, the head of the Estonian Diplomatic School, and Luca Tagliaretti, the Deputy Executive Director of the European Union agency eu-LISA.
