Chair of the Human Rights and Civil Integration Committee, Rati Ionatamishvili, visited the social enterprise "Mendes" in Lagodekhi.

During the visit, the Committee Chair familiarized himself with the enterprise's operations, its social entrepreneurship practices, and ongoing projects. Particular attention was paid to the enterprise's significant role in supporting the local community of persons with disabilities and empowering them.

The participants discussed the importance of developing social enterprises and the existing challenges in the sector. They also considered opportunities for strengthening institutional support for social enterprises, as well as measures to promote the economic empowerment, employment, and independent living of persons with disabilities.

The discussion also underscored the importance of deepening cooperation among the state, local self-government, and social enterprises, as a means of fostering an inclusive environment and ensuring equal opportunities.

The meeting was attended by persons with disabilities employed by the enterprise and the Mayor of Lagodekhi Municipality, Jondo Mdivnishvili.
