Meeting of Maka Botchorishvili and Levan Karumidze with their colleagues in Latvia

The Chair of the EU Integration Committee, Maka Botchorishvili and her First Deputy, Levan Karumidze held a meeting with the Chair of the European Affairs Committee of the Parliament of Latvia, Andris Sprūds and the Committee members, Andrejs Svilāns and Jānis Grasbergs.
At the meeting in Riga, the counterparts deliberated on the situation in the region and the security challenges, and their repercussions on the realization of the strategic goals of Georgia.
The emphasis was attached to the importance of close historic cooperation and partnership and the necessity to support Georgia in the EU integration process.
The parties dwelt on the expectations of Georgia concerning the granting of the EU candidate status and discussed the relevant issues of the Georgia-EU cooperation agenda, undertaken and ongoing reforms in the country and the progress of compliance with the EU recommendations.
