Meetings of Maka Botchorishvili and Irakli Chikovani in Strasbourg, EU Parliament

The Chair of the EU Integration Committee, Maka Botchorishvili, and a member of the Foreign Relations Committee, Irakli Chikovani, serve the official visit to Strasbourg.
The Georgian side held meetings in the European Parliament with the co-Chair of the Georgia-EU Parliamentary Association Committee Marina Kaljurand, the rapporteur on Georgia Sven Mikser, the Vice-Chair of the Euronest Parliamentary Assembly Marketa Gregorova, and a member of the Foreign Affairs Committee (AFET) Reinhard Butikofer, as well as with members of various committees and representatives of various political groups of the European Parliament.
The importance of giving Georgia a European perspective, the report of the European Parliament on the implementation of the Association Agreement, the implementation of the 12 recommendations of the European Commission, and the progress made in this regard were all topics of discussion between the parties. They also touched on the current issues of the Georgia-EU cooperation agenda.
The conversation also touched on security challenges in the Black Sea region and the difficult humanitarian situation in the occupied territories of Georgia.
