The Chair of the EU Integration Committee, Maka Botchorishvili and her First Deputy, Levan Karumidze met with the Chair of the Defense Committee of the Saeima of Latvia, Raimonds Bergmanis and overviewed the EU and NATO integration agenda of Georgia highlighting the importance of the support of Georgia providing the current challenges.

The parties discussed the cooperation of Georgia with the partners in peace and security issues and the contribution of Georgia to international missions.

The discourse included the decision of the European Council, the expectations of Georgia in regard to the EU candidacy, the progress of compliance with the EU recommendations and the undertaken reforms.
