Parliament Supported the draft Law on Lotteries, Gambling and Prize Games

The Parliament of Georgia adopted, at III reading, amendments to the Law of Georgia “On the Organization of Lotteries, Gambling and Prize Games”.
The draft law was presented at the plenary sitting by the Chair of the Economic Policy Committee, Shota Berekashvili.
The amendments regulate issues related to the international organization of gambling and/or prize games in a system-electronic format. In particular, the legislation introduces the concepts of the international organization, through system-electronic means, of casino games; slot machine games; and totalizator (sports betting) games, and establishes the corresponding licensing regime; and amendments define the conditions for granting such permits; the duration of the permits; licensing requirements; and mechanisms for the supervision and control of the relevant activities.
In addition, the law stipulates that citizens of Georgia shall not be permitted to participate in games organized under the international organization framework.
